The Bright Way™ To Heat Water Program
Our BRIGHT WAY program can help you save money by providing a cash discount or low-interest loan to finance your solar water heater purchase.
Eligibility Requirements
You may be eligible for the BRIGHT WAY program if:
- You own a permanent residence
- Your residence receives electricity from CEC
- An electric water heater is your primary source of hot water
Only jobs that have gone through the BRIGHT WAY review process, and have been inspected and approved by CEC, are eligible.
Note: You may also qualify for a State of Oregon Residential Energy Tax Credit. Check with the Oregon Department of Energy before installing the system.
How much is the discount?
The maximum cash discount for an approved installation with a collector area greater than 31 square feet is $500.00.
What are the terms of the loan?
Through our lending partner, Bank of the Cascades, you can get a loan covering 100% of job costs up to $5000 at the current prime lending rate. Costs exceeding $5000 are financed at 2% above prime. There is no loan fee and no penalty for early payment.

Whatever your situation, the job proposal must be reviewed and approved by CEC before work begins to receive the financial incentive. Once the job is completed, a final verification will be made prior to any payment.
